Section for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Pathology
Profile
The section treats a range of diseases of the teeth and jaws, in particular:
- Operations on the jaws, including tooth extraction
- Removal of wisdom teeth
- Insertion of dental implants
- Surgical treatment of inflammation of the root apex
- Diseases of the mucous membrane
The section provides teaching for the odontology students during the final part of their studies. For this reason, treatment is generally carried out by students in close collaboration with the section's dental specialists/dentists. Research
Current research projects at the Section for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Pathology focus on bone biology and the treatment of dental implants. We carry out the studies in close collaboration with national and international partners.
