Join us for a one-day translational symposium exploring the athlete’s heart across species. The symposium brings together clinicians and researchers working with human and horse athletes to discuss how the heart adapts to exercise, when physiological remodelling may become arrhythmogenic, and what we can learn by studying these mechanisms across species.
The programme will span cardiac imaging and long-term adaptation in athletes, the effects of exercise and atrial fibrillation, sudden cardiac death and much more. The symposium will be held at the Large Animal Hospital in Taastrup, and the day will conclude with a practical session involving treadmill testing of a horse.
The symposium is aimed at clinicians, researchers and students with an interest in cardiovascular physiology, sports cardiology, arrhythmias and translational cardiovascular research.
