Cardiometabolic Health in a Changing Climate - Aarhus

Climate change is no longer only an environmental challenge—it is a cardiometabolic health challenge. Rising temperatures, air pollution, extreme weather events, pollen exposure, and other environmental stressors are increasingly recognised as important contributors to cardiovascular and cardiometabolic disease. 

As researchers and healthcare professionals, our responsibility extends beyond understanding disease—we also have a role in addressing the environmental factors that shape future cardiometabolic health. This meeting offers a unique opportunity to engage with a growing field that will increasingly influence research, clinical care, and public health policy in the years ahead.

Aim
The meeting aims to:

• Provide an up-to-date overview of the evidence linking climate change and environmental exposures to cardiometabolic disease.
• Explore how climate-related factors such as heat, air pollution, allergens, and changing weather patterns affect cardiometabolic health.
• Discuss how climate considerations can be integrated into cardiometabolic research, prevention strategies, and clinical practice.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration between cardiometabolic researchers, clinicians, public health experts, and climate scientists.
• Inspire participants to contribute to societal awareness and evidence-based action on climate-related health risks.

Target group
Researchers within the cardiometabolic field, including medical students, early career researchers, and senior researchers.
Please note that you are not guaranteed a seat at the event if you do not meet the target group requirements. Priority is given to early career researchers (PhD-students and Postdocs) employed at Danish research and healthcare institutions or in life science industry. A number of seats may be reserved for participants from abroad. If the event is overbooked, the organisers reserve the right to select participants based on the defined requirements.
