Introduktionsuddannelsen i thoraxkirurgi er et 1-årigt specialespecifikt introduktionsforløb og kan påbegyndes efter endt klinisk basisuddannelse og opnåelse af selvstændigt virke. Introduktionsforløbet på Aarhus Universitetshospital gennemføres og godkendes i henhold til et uddannelsesprogram udfærdiget af det regionale videreuddannelsesråd, baseret på målbeskrivelsen for introduktionsstilling i thoraxkirurgi, og er en forudsætning for at kunne ansøge om hoveduddannelsesstilling. En godkendt introduktionsstilling i thoraxkirurgi giver adgang til at kunne søge en hoveduddannelsesstilling i thoraxkirurgi.

Clinical dental technician

Klinisk tandtekniker

The clinical dental technician treats patients who need dentures. The study programme only takes place in Aarhus and is an advanced study that builds on the clinical dental technician assistant programme which takes place at the Dental Technician School in Copenhagen. The programme focuses on clinical theory subjects, patient treatment and laboratory work.

The clinical dental technician must have a practical approach, an aesthetic sense and possess the ability to establish good contact with people.

A clinical dental technician can find employment at a clinical dental technicians or a dentist. After one year's employment, the clinical dental technician can gain authorisation to run his or her own clinic or become part of a joint clinic.

Patient treatment and working in the laboratory
As a clinical dental technician you treat patients who need dentures. If the patient still has some of his or her own teeth, you manufacture a partial denture. This is done in collaboration with a dentist, who takes care of any treatment of the patient's teeth, mucous membranes and jaw. If the patient does not have any teeth left, the clinical dental technician manufactures a full denture.

To be admitted to the study programme, you must have completed the clinical dental technician assistant programme.

Tasks
The clinical dental technician:

  • Examines patients – fills out the journal
  • If necessary, refers the patient to a dentist
  • Takes an imprint of the teeth and gums
  • Manufactures dentures in the laboratory
  • Inserts and adjusts the finished dentures
  • Provides information and instructions about cleaning the dentures
  • Carries out patient check-ups

Job opportunities
As a clinical dental technician, you can find employment at a clinical dental technicians or a dentist. After one year's employment, you can gain authorisation to run your own clinic or become part of a joint clinic.

Adgangskrav
Gennemført uddannelse til laboratorietandtekniker eller klinisk tandteknikerassistent. Udenlandske ansøgere skal inden studiestarten have bestået studieprøven i dansk.
Der kan dispenseres fra adgangskravene, hvis tilsvarende kvalifikationer haves.

Ansøgningsfrist er den 15. marts.

På grund af Corona-situationen kan Aarhus Universitet desværre ikke afholde interviews i år. Det betyder, at interviewet udgår. 

Din kvote 2 ansøgning bliver vurderet ud fra de kvote 2 kriterier, som i forvejen er gældende og du skal stadig opfylde kravet om en adgangsgivende eksamen i form af en uddannelse som laboratorietandtekniker eller klinisk tandteknikerassistent.

Study description

The clinical dental technician degree programme takes 4½ years.

You must have completed the clinical dental technician assistant programme at the Dental Technician School in Copenhagen before you can apply to the 2-year clinical dental technician post-secondary training programme. The teaching requires you to be able to independently perform the technical stages involved in the manufacture of dentures.

The theoretical instruction provides the basis for you being able to examine patients, make treatment plans and perform the clinical and technical manufacture of the dentures.

The programme consists of the following elements:

  • Biological and medical core subjects, e.g. anatomy and physiology
  • Clinical subjects – theory and practice, e.g. clinical oral physiology and patient treatment
  • Other subjects, e.g. forensic odontology, sociology/psychology
