Oral Ecology and Inflammation

Insights into biofilm ecology and inflammatory processes are central to oral disease control and healing processes. We strive to develop this understanding for the ultimate good of the public.

What We Do

We work in biofilm ecology, inflammatory diseases, tissue healing and bio-engineering, and study fluoride dynamics with the aim of improving the control and treatment of oral diseases and the clinical decision making for individuals and groups.

Our core competences include the development of confocal microscopy based methods for biofilm imaging and the systematic testing of novel therapeutic approaches to biofilm control.

Who We Are

Our research theme hosts 13 highly specialized researchers, and we collaborate extensively with other research teams nationally as well as internationally.
