MBSR is short for Mindfulness-based stress reduction. It is a scientific, evidence-based eight-week program that improves mental health and prevents, reduces, and alleviates stress, depression, and a wide range of mental illnesses.

This program uses intensive training in mindfulness so you can improve health and quality of life as well as manage symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression. Whether you are currently suffering from any kind of mental illness or not.

Attention training

In this program, you will practice how to relate to your thoughts and feelings as they emerge with loving and accepting awareness – even if the emerging thoughts are unwanted. This way, you can practice being fully aware and present in the now while you work with your patterns of reaction and habitual thinking.

In the MBSR program, meditation techniques and simple physical yoga exercises have been taken out of their original religious context and adapted to people in a Western culture.

As opposed to many of the other available offers on mindfulness, the MBSR program is subject to international scientific standards for qualified teaching.

The mind can be exercised, just like the body

According to scientific evidence, mental health can be exercised just like physical health, and MBSR can be used as a technique. It is crucial that this be done on a serious foundation. For that reason, only trained professionals who live up to international standards for MBSR training teach the MBSR courses at the Danish Center for Mindfulness.
